On The Mountain Or In The Valley

I address those, whether on the mountain or in the valley. Inside a storm or outside. It does not matter where you find yourself right now, dear friend. I have words of encouragement and I pray that it will do just that.  Because I have tasted the storm and I have tasted freedom too. In every situation, God is good.

That glorious day we anticipate, when God says that it is time to leave the valley. Our trials seem long and the light of hope grows dim. But let me encourage you to have joy in the anticipation of that glorious day, because that glorious day is a promise – whether in heaven or this side of heaven.

I truly believe in the work of the Holy Spirit. And it is the Holy Spirit that guides us through trials. James 1:5 says that we should ask for wisdom. In context this wisdom we should ask for is the wisdom we need to go through a trial. He is leading us step by step. We have exactly all we need.

Let me beg you to listen to what I have to say. Leaving the valley could be scary. There are all the what-ifs hanging around as we take that bold step into the freedom that God gives us when our freedom comes this side of heaven. Yet, do we deny that some of us take a little bit of valley soil in our pockets when it is time to leave? Do we deny that the bold step to exit the valley could seem daunting?

We should step out in faith dear ones. We should step out and be ready to lay our burdens down. We should step out and lay our weapons down as well. For God Himself prompts you through the Holy Spirit that your time in the valley is up. It is finished. And then we rejoice even more. We gladly celebrate in thanksgiving. Your work is done, or might I say more plainly; the work that God was doing in you through that specific trial, is done.

But let me speak also to those who have not tasted this bold step yet. Questions hover in our mind: what if we never see the day where we can also lay our weapons down? What if God allows us to be in this situation forever? I am one to testify! I have tasted and seen of His goodness.

But I have also learned that His goodness exists in the waiting. I have learned to be patient. This came as a trial itself – learning patience I mean. I had to believe that there would one day come a moment of triumph and thanksgiving. Because we walk by faith and not by sight.

Yes, the tornado of anxiety swirls around like something ready to devour. When in God’s sovereign will, it was a wind bringing you out of your comfort zone – to learn. Yet, even though it seems like a tornado, beyond the tornado is a bright and glorious sunshine.

There is a day awaiting you. One where you will burst from thanksgiving and faith – my God promised and He did what He said He would do, because He is good. That moment where you will fall on your knees and proclaim: it’s done. God did it again!

Do not let your faith be broken. It might feel like you want to give up. Hang on one more day. And when that day is done and you realize that God gave you the strength, hang on another day and another day and another. Your day is coming dear one.

Remember that things worth waiting for, are worth a lot.

Be blessed in your trial. Be blessed out of your trial. And remember to give all glory to God.
